Greetings Shekinah Family,
It’s the most wonderful (and busy) time of the year! I trust you have been able to enjoy the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays amidst the flurry of activity that inevitably fills our calendars.
I am so encouraged to hear stories of how God is using Shekinah Christian School to encourage and propel families forward in their own spiritual growth. I’ve heard multiple accounts of families who have felt embraced by the warm, caring teachers and individual attention that their child has received. Sometimes individuals falsely believe a Christian school is or should be perfect. The truth is the difference is not in our perfection, but in our prioritization of a Biblical worldview as we teach, discipline, and relate to students.
Last year many of you gave financially to support our mission through Project 20/20. Thank you! The upgrades, replacements, and services that we were able to accomplish with your gifts literally fill a page. Many of them were not extremely visible to a casual observer (technology infrastructure, bell/intercom/phone system, door repairs, a permanent AC unit for the cafeteria, and new computers for all our teachers). Nevertheless, the positive impact of these changes has been felt deeply by our teachers and students.
To celebrate Giving Tuesday last week and to continue to advance the mission of Shekinah Christian School, we are inviting you to participate in our year-end Refresh Shekinah Campaign. Last year new carpet, paint, and an intercom system in the back two classrooms transformed the learning space into a modern inviting place for education. Can you imagine what would happen if we were able to transform the remaining classrooms with new carpet to eliminate some stains and odors? Imagine with me what it would be like to walk into an air-conditioned gymnasium next August! Refreshing might be an understatement!
I invite you to consider helping us make the projects on the next page a reality. Each project has the potential to refresh the look and feel of our facility and enhance the experience for students and faculty.
Will you help invest in the lives of children between now and December 31st?
Our Refresh Shekinah campaign goal is $100,000. We would love to raise an additional $50,000 during the spring semester to complete more of the projects listed. Last week, we were surprised by a phone call from an organization that is willing to donate a substantial sum. In addition, our school board has also chosen to lead the way in giving as a demonstration of their commitment to the Shekinah mission. That means we have already raised $26,400 towards our $100,000 goal! God has been so faithful in providing for our needs. That is more than we started Project 20/20 with just a year ago! I hope that you will prayerfully consider getting involved.
