2019 Madison County Spelling Bee
The Madison County Spelling Bee is coming up! We are excited and want to inform you about everything that will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, so you can come and support the students.
4:00 PM (written competition) for MC Spelling Bee begins
5:30 PM (top contestants are announced and verbal portion of MC Spelling Bee begins in auditorium)

Where: Tolles Career & Technical Center

We will transport the students to Tolles after school on January 15. (Your son/daughter may want to bring a small snack for after school.) At 4:00 p.m. they will participate in a written spelling bee. While the written tests are being graded, we will provide pizza for our students. Everyone will gather in the auditorium at 5:30. The written test qualifiers will be announced and then compete in an oral spelling bee on stage.

Parents: Please arrive at Tolles at 5:30 p.m.
We encourage the parents of our participants to join us at 5:30 p.m. in the Tolles auditorium to hear the qualifiers announced and then watch the oral portion of the spelling bee.

What happens after January 17?

The student from Shekinah who remains in the competition the longest on January 15, will advance to the Regional competition in Athens, Ohio, which then leads to the National ScrippSpelling Bee in Washington D.C.!
