College Credit Plus

Ohio’s College Credit Plus program is an opportunity for college-ready students in grades 7-12 to earn high school and college credit at the same time by taking courses at a participating Ohio college or university. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families. The State of Ohio has designated funds to pay for the tuition for non-public students to participate in College Credit Plus. Students' only expenses will be the cost of textbooks for courses taken at the Ohio college or university campus or online. All public colleges and certain private colleges in Ohio are participating.

Interested, college-ready students have the opportunity to pursue more challenging classes and explore college interests while still in middle school or high school. Students can earn anywhere from a few college credits to more than a year’s worth. College Credit Plus can reduce your child’s time in college and save a significant amount of money on higher education.

CCP Information About Ohio Christian University
Shekinah hosted our annual CCP Information Session on November 5, 2019.  One of the college representatives that we invited was unable to attend.  The Ohio Christian University representative couldn't be here but sent information.  A number of Shekinah students have taken their CCP classes through OCU.  The information about OCU's program is here for your convenience.
CCP Information from Columbus State Community College
CCP students who are interested in attending Columbus State Community College after high school should read this checklist.  Students who have never participated in CCP, or have applied but not taken courses, will need to apply/reapply to CSCC.

Cedarville University's College Credit Plus Psychology Class

We are planning to offer a CCP psychology class at Shekinah in 2020-2021 through Cedarville University. See the guide below that explains the course. This class will be an online class, but the students who are taking it will meet daily as a class with a facilitator who would be a Shekinah staff member.  You would earn elective high school credit at the same time you would earn college credit in a subject that is a Gen. Ed. requirement in most college programs.  If you are interested in taking this class, or just want more information please email lshetler@shekinahchristian.org or call 614-873-3143.
