OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal

The OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal recognizes students who demonstrate professional skills that are important in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, reliability, problem-solving, and professionalism.

Students can begin developing these skills through school, work, and community experiences. They work with mentors who help validate their demonstrated skills as part of the process.

Field Experience & Portfolio

Field experiences help students connect what they learn in school with the world beyond the classroom. Depending on the opportunity, students may explore a career, observe professionals, participate in relevant activities, or gain practical experience.

Students can also document their experiences, skills, accomplishments, and reflections in a portfolio. This can help them recognize their growth and prepare for future education, training, or employment.

Work-Based Learning & Career Readiness

Work-based learning and career-readiness experiences help students prepare for life after graduation. Opportunities may include career exploration activities, job shadowing, internships, workplace experiences, and other approved learning opportunities.

Through these experiences, students can build professional skills, learn about workplace expectations, and better understand the careers that interest them.
